Cards for August 2026
A reading
for the month ahead
Our three cards are:
Ace of Swords
Eight of Wands
King of Pentacles
Welcome!
Happy August! Here are my 3 cards for the month.
I've drawn from the full 78-card Tarot deck, exploring:
• What do we need to know?
• What may challenge us?
• What guidance will help?
This month's reading comes from the newly published Pixie's Marseille Tarot by Alejandro R. Rozan. I've also shared a short overview of this unique deck on my new YouTube channel which you can take a look at here: https://youtu.be/u5J6wX05egY

The Story the Tarot Cards Are Telling Us
My first impression is that August begins with a burst of clarity. We know what we want to do and we're eager to get started. However, as the month unfolds, progress may feel slower than we'd hoped. But instead of becoming frustrated, these cards encourage us to stay grounded, have patience and trust the process. . August feels like a slow burner... but one worth sticking with.
What do we need to know?
Card One - The ACE of SWORDS
Aces are about beginnings, the start of something new. Swords are the air element that influences matters of the mind. Here, we're seeing a fresh idea, clarity of thought about the way forward. So quite understandably, you want to act on it! The Ace reminds us that every achievement starts as a single thought.
A Question to Reflect On
What idea keeps returning to me?
Am I acting on my inspiration, or letting it drift away?
What may challenge us?
Card Two - The EIGHT OF WANDS
If we imagine the 'pip' or number cards as a journey from starting out at the Ace - as above, right through to 10 being the end or completion, then 8 is quite far in to the journey. It's where we realise the progress we're making - even though we can see that the road ahead may be still be a bumpy one.
However, being in our 'Challenge' position would suggest that things are getting a little intense and we struggle to appreciate how far we've come or that we can't see how we'll get over the next hurdle. It may be something a simple as patience being needed as August is traditionally when many are on holiday, so processes seem to take longer.
Or, perhaps the challenge isn't the obstacle itself, but losing sight of how far we've already travelled because we're so focused on what we've still to do.
Questions to Reflect on
Am I measuring my progress fairly?
What small step would keep me moving forwards?
What guidance will help? - The KING of PENTACLES
Kings are of course, in control. Knowledgeable, capable, successful and able to assist. Our King of Pentacles has all he needs here in the physical world, whether it's health, money, home, family etc. And if that doesn't relate to how you see yourself, then this month's cards are encouraging you to get expert help. The earth element of Pentacles is slow to act, and the King doesn't build success overnight. He builds it steadily, brick by brick.
Question to Reflect on:
Where in my life do I need to be more patient and practical?
Who could help me build stronger foundations?
Looking Ahead
An idea has alread begun to take shape.
The challenge won't be whether it's possible,
but whether you can remain patient while it develops.
Keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Rome wasn't built in a day.
Think clearly - Keep going - Trust the process.
This is a collective tarot card reading for the month, so take what resonates and leave the rest. For legal reasons in the UK, all readings should be regarded as being for entertainment purposes only.
If you'd like guidance that's personal to your own situation, I'd love to welcome you for an individual online Tarot reading, or perhaps you'd like to host a Tarot party or meet up at one of my public events?
