Tarot Card for the Week commencing Sunday 16th August 2026

He's back!

This week we've got the Knight of Swords again - he last made an appearance

just just a few weeks ago!

Welcome!

The Story the Tarot Card Is Telling Us This Week

Yikes! ⚔️ The energy I feel from this Knight of Swords is far more intense and confrontational than the one that faced us just a few weeks ago!

Back then, our Knight encouraged us to go forward even if we didn't feel completely qualified or experienced for the task ahead. This time, looking at this particular card, I hear something closer to a battle cry!

I tend to think of the Court Cards as a family, with the Knight as the teenager. He's brave, outspoken and eager to prove himself, but he doesn't yet have the experience or wisdom of his father, the King.

And that's important here.

If you recall, just 2 weeks after the last appearance of the knight, his father the King of Swords arrived. His message was to stay clear-headed, know your facts and don't confuse strength with aggression. I wonder if the Knight has remembered that advice?!

The suit of Swords represents our thoughts, communication and how we make sense of the world around us. It can also relate to study and education, professional or legal matters, and the way we process stress and mental challenges.

So this week, the Knight of Swords may be pointing towards a situation that needs to be faced, or perhaps someone comes charging at you with a strong argument, demand or opinion. Either way, don't be intimidated by all that noise and armour! Keep your wits about you and communicate your position clearly.

But be careful! The Knight's enthusiasm can sometimes be faster than his judgement. Being determined to win an argument isn't the same as being right. Before charging in, make sure you know the facts and what you're fighting for.

As always, the cards don't tell us what will happen. Instead, they invite us to pause, reflect and ask ourselves the questions that matter.

Questions to Consider

💙 Is there a situation I've been avoiding because I don't want the confrontation that may come with it?

💙 If I do need to stand my ground, have I got the facts rather than simply a strong opinion?

💙 Am I facing a genuine battle, or am I allowing frustration, impatience or pride to turn it into one?

Remember the King's advice to his son - sometimes we need to recognise that there doesn't have to be a battle, sometimes courage means just standing your ground. or having the difficult conversation.

Use the Knight of Swords' nerve, but don't forget to hold onto the reins. ⚔️

This is a collective tarot card reading for the month, so take what resonates and leave the rest. For legal reasons in the UK, all readings should be regarded as being for entertainment purposes only.

This week's card was drawn from a newly acquired giant Tarot deck! It's just called Tarot and published by Top Deck. It's a promoted as a 'beginner' deck, but it caught my eye as it's not easy to find a giant-sized pip deck (rather than Rider Waite). And this size will come in very handy for the ice-breaker activity at my Tarot house-parties.
