A reading

for the month ahead

October 2026

Our three cards are:

The Page of Cups

The Empress

The 7 of Pentacles

Welcome!

Can't believe it's October already! 🎃 Here are my 3 cards for the month.

I've drawn from the full 78-card Tarot deck, exploring:

• What do we need to know?

• What may challenge us?

• What guidance will help?

Our October reading comes from the CBD Tarot de Marseille by Yoav Ben-Dov. It's a reproduction of the 1760 Nicholas Conver deck.

The Story the Tarot Cards Are Telling Us

These cards can be read individually or linked together.

My first impression is that October may ask us to consider the support we give, both to others and to ourselves.

The Page of Cups brings an open, emotionally receptive energy.

The Empress suggests care, support and responsibility, although appearing in our Challenge position she may ask us to consider what happens when being 'the strong one' isn't quite so easy.

Finally, the Seven of Pentacles reminds us not to underestimate the experience we've already gained or the progress we've already made.

What do we need to know?

Card One - The PAGE of CUPS

You may remember that we started September with a Page too! All of the pages encourage us to have a keen and playful mind as they bring a child-like curiosity and enthusiasm for what's to come. However our page this month represents the suit of Cups, which would suggest that we're referring to the realm of our feelings and relationships.

Because Court Cards can often represent ourselves or actual people in our lives, I should mention that in my readings, this Page quite often represents a child or young adult. If someone immediately springs to your mind, perhaps it's worth considering whether they need a little more of your time, attention or emotional support this month.

But the Page doesn't have to be another person. Perhaps our card is asking us to bring some of that child-like openness to our own feelings. Are we willing to say how we feel, listen to our intuition or approach a relationship without assumption?

Questions to Reflect On

💙 Where do I need to be a bit more 'open' in my feelings or relationships?

💙 Is there a younger person who may need some TLC in October?

What may challenge us?

Card Two - The EMPRESS

The Empress is our only Major Arcana of the 3 October cards, and as such carries the main message of the month.

She is such a reliable character, the person we run to when we need support, the one who cares for us unconditionally. Perhaps a parent, sibling, partner or a friend? Is it you? It may be that this is you in your role of guardian of our Page of Cups.

She appears so reassuring and 'solid'. So why is she in the Challenge position, I wonder?

Well, perhaps the challenge isn't whether we're capable of being the Empress, but the responsibility that comes with it. Being the person others rely upon can sometimes be demanding. We may question whether we're giving the right advice, doing enough or handling a situation in the right way.

If you feel our Empress represents somebody else, perhaps October asks us to consider whether we're relying too heavily on their support or assuming they'll always have the answers for us.

Even the strong one can't be strong all the time.

Questions to Reflect on

💙 Am I trusting my ability to support others, or constantly doubting whether I'm doing enough?

💙 If I usually look after everyone else, where might I need some support myself?

What guidance will help?

Card Three - Seven of PENTACLES

Pentacles relate to our physical and practical world, including money, home, health and career. By the time we reach the Seven, we've already travelled a considerable distance on our journey from the Ace to the Ten .

We may not have reached the point where we can enjoy the final result, but there should be enough evidence around us to recognise that we're heading in the right direction.

.

So perhaps our guidance here is to stop focusing on what still needs doing and acknowledge what experience has taught us. If we're questioning our ability to handle a situation, the Seven asks us to look at the evidence.

For me, Sevens suggest that we've probably already experienced more and progressed further than we're giving ourselves credit for.

Question to Reflect on:

💙 Where or how do I need to acknowledge the solid progress I've already made?

💙 What has experience taught me that I can draw upon now?

Looking Ahead

Together, these cards suggest that October

may be about support, confidence and experience.

The Page of Cups asks us to remain emotionally open,

whether that's towards someone who needs us or towards our own feelings.

The Empress reminds us that being the capable or supportive one isn't always easy, and even the strongest among us can occasionally question whether we're getting it right.

And the Seven of Pentacles asks us to look at how far we've already come. We may not have all the answers, but experience has given us more knowledge and confidence than we perhaps realise.

So if October asks you to support someone else, or simply to trust yourself a little more, don't start from the assumption that you don't know what you're doing. Look at what you've already learned.

Stay open. Trust your experience. Recognise how far you've come.
