Tarot
Card of the Week commencing Sunday 2nd August 2026
This week we've drawn
The King of Swords
Welcome!
The Story the Tarot Cards Is Telling Us This Week
If you remember, just a couple of weeks ago we had the Knight of Swords. Headstrong and forceful but without experience or expertise. This King is his father - and expertise, experience, knowledge and an analytical mind are what he brings to this week's party.
I don't use this deck on a day to day basis, but was drawn to it just now. And I've noticed that this King of Swords isn't ready to fight. He has the armour, a shield, the chain of office and a long, sharp sword - but it's pointing down, not upwards ready to take action.
My interpretation here then, is that where the Knight was eager to act, the King has learned that timing matters. Experience has taught him that not every battle needs to be fought and not every opinion needs to be challenged. More likely it's a time for negotiation, clear communication - but not forgetting who's in charge!
However - who does this represent for you this week? Is it you? Or is this your adversary in a particular situation? Either way, gather the facts and speak your truth clearly. A fight isn't what's needed.
The King of Swords carries his sword with confidence because he rarely needs to use it.
As always, the cards don't tell us what will happen. Instead, they invite us to pause, reflect and ask ourselves the questions that matter.
Questions to Consider
💙 With whom I need to communicate without being confrontational and do I have all the facts to hand?
💙 Where could calm, logical communication achieve more than emotion?
💙 Am I using facts or relying on assumptions?
💙 Is this a situation that needs action... or just a well-chosen conversation?

This week's card was drawn from the Naibi di Giovanni Vacchetta deck, published by Lo Scarabeo.
